As experienced log home builders in Utah, Caribou Log Homes combines decades of hands-on craftsmanship with custom design to create homes built around the people who will live in them. From our home state of Utah to projects throughout the Western United States, every Caribou home begins with a vision and is shaped with care.
Caribou's approach was shaped through decades spent learning construction firsthand — understanding not only how a home should look, but how it should be designed, crafted, and assembled to stand the test of time.
Caribou Log Homes founder and master craftsman Nic began working in construction at just 16 years old. What started as hands-on experience grew into more than three decades of learning the details that separate ordinary construction from lasting craftsmanship.
Over the years, that experience developed into a passion for handcrafted log construction. Traditional building techniques, thoughtful design, careful joinery, and the natural character of wood became the foundation for the way Caribou approaches every home.
Today, Caribou brings that experience to homeowners who want something personal — not a mass-produced package, but a log home shaped around their property, lifestyle, and vision.
The best homes begin by understanding the people, property, and purpose behind the project. That's why our process starts with listening before we start building.
Your property, lifestyle, family, and goals shape the direction of the project from the beginning.
Floor plans can be changed, combined, or created from scratch so the finished home feels distinctly yours.
We approach craftsmanship with the long term in mind, creating homes meant to become part of a family's story.
Experienced log home builders in Utah understand that the details behind the finished walls matter just as much as the details you can see. Our work is rooted in proven construction methods, carefully selected materials, and hands-on craftsmanship.
Traditional Swedish cope techniques preserve the natural shape and character of the logs while creating a distinctive, handcrafted structure.
Begin with one of our floor plans, modify an existing design, or create something entirely new around your property and goals.
More than thirty years of construction experience informs the decisions, craftsmanship, and practical guidance behind each project.
From the first design conversation through construction, our team stays involved to help you understand the process and make confident decisions.
Caribou Log Homes is based in Utah, where mountain landscapes, open spaces, and generations of Western craftsmanship have helped shape the homes we build.
While Utah remains home, our work is not limited by state lines. We work with homeowners throughout the Western United States who are looking for a handcrafted log home designed specifically for their land and lifestyle.
Whether your future home overlooks a Utah valley, sits among the mountains of Wyoming or Montana, or rests on property elsewhere in the West, the process begins the same way: understanding what you want to build and why.
